Glenn Alterman won the prestigious Arts and Letters Award in Drama for his play
"The Sealing of Ceil".
The prize includes a cash award, publication of the play and a full production.
"Like Family"
is a Competition Selection in in the Pittsburgh New Works Festival.
For the third consecutive year Alterman's play
"Coulda-Woulda-Shoulda"
has won the Three Genres Playwriting Competition.
The prize includes a cash award and inclusion in the college textbook,
The Three Genres- The Writing of Poetry, Fiction and Drama.

PLAYS
- Solace
Circle East Theater Company (Michael Warren Powell, Artistic
Director) produced the World Premiere of Solace, a new full length
play. Circle East was instrumental in the development of the play during the last two years.
Currently, "Solace" has
productions in Munich, Berlin and (upcoming) Amsterdam. Previously, the play had a highly acclaimed reading in
London. |

The play has been described as a "provocative, poignant
and humorous tale of a gay professor of Judaism, as he reflects on his roller
coaster life, throwing him into a whirlwind of self-doubt, compassion and
ultimately revelation".
Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Lanford Wilson has said of
Solace: "Everything about this play is surprising, literate and
wonderful."
Director Joseph Chaikin has called the play, "
beautifully written, a fascinating play." Solace was recently
performed at Center Stage Theater. |
